Telavi Old Cellar - Archil’s Wine

"I am the founder of LTD “Telavi Old Cellar” that I founded in 2011. My goal is to produce high-quality wine. For producing wine, I use grapes that are raped in my own vineyard, cultivated in 1970, which is located in the microregion of Tsinandali, in the village  Kurdghelauri from the sea level 510 m. In order to increase the quality of wine, we attach special importance to the agro-technological work of vineyard and grape quality control. For taking care of vineyard we use only biologically and ecologically clean means and methods. However, in some cases, we purchase grapes from the selected vineyards which satisfy our demands of quality. The production is based on the traditional methods of winemaking, which provides full participation of grape's stalk and marc in alcoholic fermentation. Also, we use winemaking technology developed by us, considering the situation of a   vineyard and the features of the grape breed. Each production process and labor is done by hand. The amount of created product is not much and it is defined in limited quantity- 7000 bottles a year. All this gives us a perfect opportunity to produce and offer consumers high-quality wine." - Archil Utiashvili
